Microsoft Exchange Server is a comptuer
software that develop by Microsoft, use to send and store e-mail. It's
difficult to set up than other softwares because it is a server
software. You can follow the step below for setting up Microsoft
Exchange Server:
- Insert Exchange Server 2003 CD when figure below will appear click on Exchange Deployment Tools
- Click on Deploy the first Exchange 2003 Server
- Click on New Exchange 2003 installation
- It have 8 step for set up Exchange 2003 Server
- 8 Step For Set Up Exchange 2003 Server
- Step 1: required Windows 2000 Server SP3, Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP3, Windows Server 2003 or above.
- Step
2: required to set up service SMTP, NNTP, WWW and if you use Windows
Server 2003 you need to set up ASP.NET. Below is the way to set up these
services:
- Start menu » Control Panel » Add or Remove Programs » Add, Remove Windows Components
- Click
on Application Server » Details.. button » ASP.NET » Internet
Information Service(IIS) » Details… button » NNTP Service, SMTP service
and World Wide Web Service
- Click OK button » OK button » Next button » Finish
- Step 3: Required to set up SUPTOOLS.MSI that available in Windows Server 2003. For set up this tool you need to insert CD Windows then go to ...\Support\Tools folder » double click on file SUPTOOLS.MSI » Next button » choose Agree » Next button » type User name and Organization Name » Next button and wait until it finish then click Finish button.

4: Run DCDiag(Domain Controller Diagnostics) tool for test network
connectivity and DNS Resolution for Domain Controller. For run DCDiag
you need to open Command Promt (cmd) and type dcdiag and you will get
result as below

5: Run NETDIAG(Network Diagnostics) tool by run network diagnostics
test and open Command Prompt (cmd) and type netdiag and you will get
result as below

6: Run ForestPrep tool for upgrade Active Directory Schema (tree) with
Exchange 2003 Server. For run ForestPrep tool click on Run ForestPrep
Now » Next button » choose "I Agree" » Next button » choose ForestPrep
(as figure below) » click Next button and wait till install finish then
click Finish button.

7: Run DomainPrep for Group and Permission that necessary for Exchange
Server for read and modify user attributes. For Run DomainPrep, click on
Run DomainPrep Now » click Next button » choose "I Agree" » click Next
button » choose DomainPrep (figure below) » click Next button » wait
until install finish » then click Finish button.
- Step 8: Setup Exchange Server, click on Run Setup Now
- Click Next button
- Choose "I Agree" » click Next button
- Choose "Custom" » choose install » click Next button
- Click Next button
- Choose "Create a New Exchange Organization" » click Next button
- Input Organization name » click Next button
- Wait until install finish » click Finish button
